Week five

We just finished up week five of lectures, and we had an incredible lady Faith Dutton come and speak on relationships. It was really awesome to hear and learn about what a healthy and Godly relationship looks like, not only dating relationships but friend relationships as well.

The week before that we learnt about the nature and character of God and had a Guy called Peter Warren from YWAM in Denver, USA come and talk. I learnt so much though the lectures, and God really challenged me about what it really means to die to myself on a daily basis.

We also learnt a little bit more about our short outreaches. Before I go to PNG a team of around 15 of us are going up to some farming communities in Queensland for three weeks. We are not exactly sure what this will look like yet but it seems we will be doing a whole range of things, from connecting with backpackers in Cains through free bbq's and sports, to practically serving and blessing the community by gardening.

As we begin learning more about our PNG outreach I am getting more and more excited. This weekend our whole school had a 40 hour fast for our outreach, with each of us fasting different things, each week we also spend a bit of time praying for outreach, scheduled and unscheduled, and God is really stirring my heart for this people group.

At the end of this week all the students are going camping for two weeks and I am really looking forward to it! There will still be bathrooms and water and electricity, so we will continue lectures, and we won't be ruffing it to much, but we will be out in the bush and living in tents still, which will be awesome. Although we won't be able to access the Internet for the whole time, so I think I will find it difficult not being able to contact anyone, but it will be a good chance for me to fully commit to connecting with God and those around me more. And I will defiantly have a big update when I get back:)
